Upon a request of airport pick up service, students are met at the Sydney International airport and transported to their accommodation venue by a College representative. The airport pick up fee is AU$200.

Pacific College of Technology can arrange accommodation for students. The accommodation arrangement fee is AU$200. Students can enjoy any one of the following accommodation types:

Students are provided with a student contact officer to support them and ensure their welfare. The contact officer can help you with all academic matters. If needed, the contact officer can refer you to an external professional counsellor for help with personal problems.

You will be introduced to your Student Contact Officer upon induction, or consult the Student Handbook.

During your induction, the Student Services Officer will talk to you about any special needs you have regarding language, literacy, or numeracy. If you think you will have difficulties with any of these, or any other area, the College will do its best to adapt course materials and training and assessment activities to allow for any difficulty. The College is committed to equal access and treatment of all students and staff. All staff will treat students equally, and will do their best to ensure course materials and training and assessment activities are accessible to all students. For more information, consult the Student Handbook.

During your studies, you must abide by the rule of Academic Conduct stated in the Student Handbook. In the event of misconduct (such as plagiarism), you will face discipline, which may result in your enrolment being cancelled. For more information, consult the Student Handbook.

In order to comply with regulatory requirements, the College must inform students during induction of their legislative obligations. They are as follows:

Anti-Discrimination Act 1977

This Act applies to students in prohibiting harassment, victimisation, bullying, racial vilification and disability discrimination by and against students.

Students are to be advised that victims of the preceding may pursue legal remedy and that perpetrators of the preceding may be subject to criminal and civil action.

Education Services for Overseas Students Act 2000 (ESOS Act)

This Act applies to students in that it mandates certain policies, procedures and actions by the College. For example, the Act requires the College to report to Immigration students who have not met student visa conditions relating to attendance.

Students are to be advised that such policies and procedures are not subject to the discretion of the College and are required by law.

Migration Act 1958

This Act applies to students in that it allows the Immigration department to automatically cancel a student visa 28 days after a notice is sent to the student under Section 20 of the ESOS Act if the student has not visited DIAC.

Students are to be advised that they must visit DIAC within 28 days of a Section 20 notice if they wish to remain on their student visa.

Occupational Health and Safety Act 2000

This Act applies to students in that it that it mandates certain policies, procedures and actions by the College. For example, the Act requires the College to ensure that students are adequately protectively clothed while on campus. Students that enter the College bare-footed, in thongs, or stilettos will be asked to leave, as such footwear does not adequately protect the student.

Students are to be advised that such policies and procedures are not subject to the discretion of the College and are required by law.

Vocational Education and Training Act 2005

This Act applies to students in that it mandates certain policies, procedures and actions by the College. For example, the Act requires in certain circumstances that the College provide certain government bodies with information the College has regarding a student.

Students are to be advised that such policies and procedures are not subject to the discretion of the College and are required by law.
